So, I finally saw Once on This Island last week, and it was a total dream! The lights went down, and the music started, and BAM! I was instantly transported to this sunny Caribbean Island. It was my first time, and I was super excited.

The stage was like a colourful explosion of plants and sunshine; the actors danced in bright costumes. Right from the start, I was hooked.

The story is simple but so sweet. This girl named Ti Moune wants more out of life, and she meets this rich guy named Daniel. They fall for each other, but it’s a big deal because they’re from different worlds. And then these gods watch over everything, adding a magical touch.

The music is amazing! It’s got those catchy Caribbean rhythms, but there are also some beautiful, emotional songs. I especially loved “Mama Will Provide” and “Rain.”
The actors were incredible. Thea Astley as Ti Moune was so powerful and heartbreaking. Sam Concepcion as Daniel was good at showing his character’s mixed feelings. And the whole cast, including the gods and storytellers, made the story feel even more real.
As the play went on, I really started to care about the characters and their problems. The things they were going through, about love and loss and faith, really hit home. The ending was both sad and happy, and it left me feeling hopeful.

When I left the theatre, I was just feeling so happy and amazed. Once on This Island was way better than I expected. The music, the acting, and the story were all just perfect. It’s an experience I’ll never forget.

Once on This Island is a heartwarming and uplifting musical that celebrates the power of love and the resilience of the human spirit. It is a must-see for fans of musicals and anyone who appreciates a good story.
