Filipino indie-rock quartet Oh, Flamingo! will be celebrating their 10th anniversary in the music scene with a birthday concert happening on July 15, 2023 (Saturday), from 4 pm onwards at the 123 Block in Mandaluyong City.
Aside from commemorating their decade-long milestone with a star-studded festival lineup, the four-piece act is also opening pre-order opportunities for the vinyl release of their critically acclaimed album, Pagtanda, which topped NME’s 10 best Southeast Asian albums and EPs of 2023 so far.
“As music fans that grew up listening to physical music, it’s a big deal for us to release our record on vinyl in this digital world,” Oh, Flamingo! said. “The album itself is an homage to our youth, and to have our music released on physical format encapsulates that concept. Attendees of our 10th birthday get first dibs on being able to pre-order the record!”
Available on white vinyl for an October 2023 release, Pagtanda is the band’s debut full-length album, and is produced by R&B/soul maestro Lustbass and mastered for vinyl by OPM legend Ely Buendia.
Attendees of the multi-format festival are in for a treat as they will be given a chance to order the album at the Offshore Music booth for an exclusive discounted price of PHP 1,300 only.
Oh, Flamingo!’s 10th Birthday celebration will feature performances by some of their peers and contemporaries in the music industry, including The Itchyworms, Ang Bandang Shirley, Ourselves The Elves, Ena Mori, DJ Love, SPIT, The One Pesos, and T33G33.
A mini bazaar featuring lifestyle, culture, and art booths will be stationed in the area for the attendees to enjoy and explore. Limited-edition merch will also be available for purchase.
In true Oh, Flamingo! antics, there will be games and activities that they’ve prepared as a way to thank their followers for their unconditional love and support of the band all these years. “It will be fun, with good music and bands, as well as a lot of sabaw moments,” shares the band in a collective statement.
