This concert holds a deeper significance, as Lola Daidy played a pivotal role in Dingdong’s upbringing, fostering not only his physical well-being but also his intellectual, emotional, and spiritual growth. Her influence, marked by playing CDs of piano legends like Van Cliburn and Horowitz, inspired Dingdong’s early passion for classical music.
During the pandemic, Dingdong, in a touching tribute, returned to his roots in Ormoc, playing weekly piano recitals for his grandmother. This practice evolved into the twelve solo recitals scheduled for this year, showcasing a repertoire that includes complete sonatas by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, and works by Schumann, Chopin, and Liszt.
This concert holds special significance as it serves as a tribute to Lola Daidy, who embodied strength, grace, perseverance, and filial piety.
